The Best Years: Homemade Taco Bell

Last night Russell and I **had** to go to Walgreens because they were having a sale on Dr.Pepper…aaand since Walmart is across the street we decided to run in and grab a few things.

What we really went in for was a new comforter, when our dog was a puppy she peed on our comforter and we couldn’t wash it as it was not machine safe and the dry cleaners wouldn’t take it because it had “feces” on it. So we just chunked it seeing as how it couldn’t be cleaned and we found puppy chewing holes that had been made in it. So for approximately the last 2-3 months we’ve been sleeping under two different blankets….not cool. So we decided we’d find one that was cheap, grab it, some tomatoes and be gone….I think Wal Mart is kind of like a twilight zone or something b/c once you’re there, you’re there.

We didn’t even find a comforter, but we found three movies in the $5 bin, and chips a hoy chunky cookies. Russell was the one who decided on tacos and since we already had meat at home I agreed. So we went to the “Hispanic Foods” aisle to grab some taco shells….Taco Bell apparently sells THEIR taco shells, seasoning AND SAUCE!!! Sooo, we bought some shells and tortillas which came with seasoning, and some Taco Bell mild and hot sauce. Then we got some tomatoes, sour cream, popsicles, salad and cookies and finally found our way to the register.

We were holding all of it in our arms because we didn’t think we’d need a basket when we got there….bad plan BUTTT the Tacos were DELISH! Much better than Taco Bell because ours weren’t nasty greasy, the shells weren’t stale and the produce was fresh! : )
