Dear Brinley,
This month it has hit me hard that you're almost not a baby anymore, still my baby, sure. But you're almost a toddler and that makes me excited and breaks my heart all at the same time.
I have no worries about you standing up for yourself as you grow older. You already are assertive and make a lot of noise if you don't like what's happening to you or around you. It makes me smile inside while simultaneously kills me that you're already so strong willed.
I feel like I haven't had you long enough for it to have been a year and at the same time I feel as though you've always been here. You've always belonged.
It's an interesting feeling- having a child born and knowing that they belong to you- that they always have. That we had to have known one another long before we ever came to Earth.
I live you so so much, my sweet.
Love, Mama
